Kol Ami Social Groups
We offer many opportunities for
fellowship.
Sisterhood
Congregation Kol Ami Sisterhood fosters the ideals of Judaism and female friendships by providing social, learning and spiritual activities for women and their families. In addition to our monthly meetings, we also have other special opportunities for socializing, volunteering and fun. The common thread that binds us together is the desire to serve our congregation and community. Board meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Brotherhood
Members work together on fund-raising activities,
outings, and discussions. Meetings are the first
Wednesday of
each month at CKA. Some of their outings have included
sporting-events,
such as Rangers and Cowboys games, and bowling nights.
Kol
Ami Krushers
The Kol Ami Krushers is a softball team loosely affiliated
with Kol Ami. It is up and coming (we took second
place in our league in 2001). They usually play in
spring
and the fall seasons. Look for the announcement in
the Etone
and come on out and support a great group as a spectator.
Try-outs will be announced.
Chavurah
A Chavurah is a group of families that get together on
a regular basis to hang out and have fun. We have groups
for young couples without children, families with young
children, families
with older children, and several groups of all ages. If
you are interested in any of these groups or
want to form another one, call the Vice President for Membership
Support.
Youth Groups
KAJY (Kol Ami Junior Youth) Grades
6th to 8th
This group meets approximately 6 times during the school
year for social, spiritual and community activities varying
in nature. Some activities may encourage parental participation.
Members enjoy interaction with the Rabbi during some
activities as well. A youth group advisor is present
at all events to provide guidance, support, and transportation
(when needed).
NoTTY (North Texas Temple Youth) Grades 9th to 12th
Activities include Jewish education, mitzvah projects,
and social events. Events occur once a month with other
youth groups in the Metroplex or just within NoTTY. Members
also participate in regional events about five times
per year throughout Texas and Oklahoma. A youth group
advisor is present at all events to provide guidance,
support, and transportation (when needed).
