President Bill Lee
Pesident -
Bill Lee
Bill has served on the Board of Trustees since July 1, 2005, and has been President since July 1, 2007. He is a lawyer and CPA, who works as a sole practitioner. His areas of practice are acquisitions, contract and negotiation issues, and “a little bit of everything else” for small businesses .
A Dallas native, he went to Hillcrest High School and was confirmed at Temple Emanuel . He has been a member of Kol Ami for eight years. He and his wife Susan have two boys- - Aaron (24) and Isaac (21), who were both confirmed at Kol Ami. He is an avid golfer [no, make that a golf nut].
He was drawn to Kol Ami by its friendliness, and one of his goals is to make Kol Ami the center of an even more active and close-knit Jewish community. Since shared activities are what create deeper friendships, he wants to see us hold more activities that encourage interaction among members. Also, he wants to encourage more attendance at services. He would like to see more of our members consider Shabbat services a regular place to go in order to see friends, and to come away refreshed and inspired. Finally, he also thinks our religious school is first rate, and his goal is for the Congregation to sponsor more activities for its pre-school and school-age members so that they will begin long friendships with other young Kol Ami members and establish a solid foundation in Judaism. And as the old joke about the big dreamer goes “…..now if we only had some money…”
Most of all, Bill values our Rabbi's leadership in applying our religion of ancient tradition to our questions of modern daily life.
Bill is a shy and quiet kind of guy (a little unusual for a synagogue president?), but he is really friendly once you get to know him. He welcomes your call and is always happy to answer questions. You can contact him by calling CKA or sending an email to dusty.lee@verizon.net .
